Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-08

This page explains what personal information From Words to Workers (the "Service") collects, why, and what we do with it. We try to keep the data we touch to the absolute minimum, and to be honest about who else gets to see it. If anything below is unclear, email hello@learnwithsai.com and we'll explain.

1 · What we collect

When you create an account on this site, we receive and store on our servers:

  • your email address and the display name you give us;
  • a unique account identifier generated by our authentication provider (Clerk);
  • the date you signed up and your most recent activity timestamp;
  • your access status (pending, approved, or rejected) as set by an admin.

In addition, your browser stores some data locally (in localStorage) — specifically your lesson progress and your theme preference. This local data never leaves your device and isn't sent to our servers; clearing your browser data will reset it.

We do not collect payment information. We do not collect biometric data. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area).

2 · Why we collect it

The data above is used solely to:

  • let you sign in and out of your account;
  • let an admin approve or reject sign-ups;
  • show you which lessons you've completed (the records live in your own browser);
  • let our authentication provider (Clerk) send essential account email — sign-up verification, password resets, security alerts. We do not send marketing email.
  • diagnose technical issues if something breaks.

3 · Who else sees your data

We use a small number of reputable processors to operate the Service. By signing up you consent to your data being shared with them strictly for that purpose:

  • Clerk (clerk.com) — handles sign-up, sign-in, session management, and password storage. Sees your email, name, and any data their built-in widgets collect (IP for fraud prevention, etc.). Their privacy policy: clerk.com/legal/privacy.
  • Neon (neon.tech) — hosts our PostgreSQL database where your account row and lesson progress live. Their policy: neon.tech/privacy-policy.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — runs our web hosting and edge network. Sees standard request logs (IP, user-agent, request paths). Their policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Google Fonts — when your browser fetches the site's typefaces, Google sees your IP address. We do not send Google any account data.

We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train any AI model.

4 · Cookies & local storage

The Service uses cookies and browser local storage for two purposes:

  • Strictly-necessary session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. These are required for the site to work; you cannot opt out and stay signed in.
  • Local storage for non-essential preferences and data — your theme choice and your lesson-progress check-marks. This data lives in your browser only and is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data will remove it.

We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't set any cookies for marketing or cross-site tracking.

5 · Where your data lives

Our database is hosted in the United States (Neon). Vercel may serve our site from edge locations around the world. If you're in the EU/UK, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States; we rely on standard contractual clauses with our processors for any such transfer.

6 · How long we keep it

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your row from our database within 30 days and request deletion from Clerk; database backups taken by our infrastructure providers may retain a copy for up to 90 days before being overwritten.

Lesson-progress data lives in your own browser's localStorage; you can wipe it any time by clearing your browser's site data for our domain.

7 · Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. If you live in the EU/UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@learnwithsai.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days.

8 · Security

Our processors (Clerk, Neon, Vercel) are independently audited and encrypt data in transit and at rest. We never store passwords ourselves; Clerk handles authentication. Despite reasonable measures, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

9 · Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date and, when appropriate, notify you by email or via a banner on the site.
